ARCHERY BASICS

In several States, a bow and arrow are thought of as a firearm and so, the same rules and regulations that apply to firearms also apply to bows and arrows. Always observe State laws and follow their safety rules, without exception.

Basic rules include:

1). When stored, bows and arrows ought to be separated at all times; only coming together at the range.

2). Once at the range, only point the bow and arrow in a safe direction.

3). Be sure of the target and what is in front of it as well as whatever is behind it.

As with any firearm, the bow and arrow are used for two primary purposes: hunting and self-defense.

At Lynx Survivalist, we have three approaches to archery: targeting, bowhunting and bowfishing. Training is required to become a success in each approach and rationale is necessary when hunting or defending one's self.
